Our membership includes both individuals and local groups concerned about the built and natural environment in Hammersmith.
Our main areas of activity are:
Community participation and consultation
And many more…
We are actively interested on behalf of all Hammersmith residents and workers in such matters as proposals for new development schemes, the preservation of beautiful buildings and their surroundings, parks and trees, the use of open spaces, our stretch of the Thames, the problems of road traffic and parking, noise and pollution, etc. We want to make Hammersmith a safer, more convenient and better place in which to live, work and enjoy ourselves; and to influence the Local Authority, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, to accept greater and genuine public participation.
The Hammersmith Society is a member of the London Forum of Civic and Amenity Societies and a founder member of the West London River Group. We work closely with the Hammersmith & Fulham Historic Buildings Group.
